The Threshing Barn Project Nottingham

This Off black hand painted kitchen project with bespoke built cabinetry are all part of a newly installed luxury kitchen, walk-in pantry, utility room and boot room installation. The Threshing Barn is a beautifully renovated barn conversion in a small village on the outskirts of Nottingham. I was delighted to be invited to carry out the kitchen and cabinet painting on this project. which I did so in a timely and efficient way, working around other trades to complete.

Choosing colours for kitchens is never a straight forward decision and often leads to numerous tester pots and a lot of dilemma but I think the kitchen designer on this project got it absolutely right! Switching things round from the usual darker colour on the island and lighter colours to the main kitchen. This Off Black equivalent colour and Skimming Stone neutral to the island, really does make this kitchen stand out!

With a mix of natural wood tones to compliment the island and surrounding decor, this really is a stunning place. Furthermore, the back drop features wine racking with illuminated back panels and integrated wine chillers.

The cabinet hardware comprises a mixture of antique brass handles and pull knobs on the wall unit doors. Illuminated display shelving to the island and under cabinet lighting strips add a cool ambiance for an evenings entertainment or just relaxing with the family.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a walk-in Pantry with ample room and shelving for stocking up on essentials. Concealed strip lighting gives plenty of light to see where everything goes. As to the same paint specification as the kitchen, this hand painted pantry is finished with durable hard wearing products.

Just to one side of the main entrance reception, there is a boot room area to store wellies and, coats or wax jackets. With tonged and groove panelling to the back, a seating area with storage below. This separates the main kitchen dining area and leads into a large and spacious utility room.

Lots of space and storage in this utility and finished in the Off Black equivalent colour to coincide with all the architraves and trim throughout.

Why a hand painted kitchen?

A hand painter for kitchens and cabinetry is a skilled artisan who specialises in transforming wooden kitchens, cabinets, and furniture through meticulous, hand-applied paint finishes. These painters bring a high level of craftsmanship, using specialised techniques to prepare, prime, and carefully layer paint, creating a smooth, flawless, and durable finish that enhances the beauty and character of the furniture and cabinetry. Their work often involves selecting complementary colours, intricate brushwork, and applying multiple coats to achieve a rich, even look. With an eye for detail and a steady hand, a kitchen and cabinetry hand painter can rejuvenate worn or outdated cabinetry as well as new installations like this. Giving them a fresh, showroom-quality appearance that is both beautiful and long-lasting. Furthermore… should an accident happen and a repair is required, a hand painted finish is much easier to rectify than a sprayed finish and much better for the environment.
